أكد لاعب السلة المصري عبد الرحمن نادر المحترف في الدوري الأمريكي لكرة السلة تواجده مع منتخب مصر في كأس العالم 2023 المقبل.

وكان منتخب مصر لكرة السلة تأهل للمونديال المقبل بعدما حل وصيفًا في مجموعته خلف جنوب السودان ليتأهل الفراعنة لكأس العالم للمرة الأولى منذ إسبانيا عام 2014.

وفي تصريحات لقناة “صدى البلد”، قال عبد الرحمن نادر: “بنسبة 100% سوف أشارك مع منتخب مصر في كأس العالم 2023”.

يذكر أن عبد الرحمن نادر ارتبط لفترات طويلة بتمثيل قميص منتخب مصر، لكن الأمر لم يحدث لاسيما أن اللاعب ما زال لم يمتلك جواز سفر مصري.

وتعد رغبة اللعب في صفوف منتخب مصر في كأس العالم شخصية من جانب اللاعب الذي لم يشارك في أي لقاء منذ نوفمبر 2021.

ويعد عبد الرحمن نادر صاحب الـ29 عامًا لاعب حر منذ رحيله عن صفوف فينيكس صنز الأمريكي كما سبق له اللعب في صفوف بوسطن سيليتكس ويجيد اللعب في مركزي 3 و4.

كأس العالم لكرة السلة 2023، تجرى في 3 دول، وهي: “اليابان والفلبين وأندونيسيا”، بتواجد 5 منتخبات من إفريقيا ومثلها من آسيا، إلى جانب 7 منتخبات من الأمريكتين، و12 منتخبًا من أوروبا، بالإضافة للدول الثلاث المنظمة، ليصبح المجموع 32 منتخبًا.

The scheme is however limited and only offered to three of the ICC international panel umpires from Pakistan – Zameer Haider, Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza.”The plan for umpires was long due,” Zakir Khan, the PCB’s director for domestic cricket operation, told ESPNcricinfo. “The scheme was actually formed to encourage those who are representing Pakistan in the ICC international panel, so only three umpires were offered the six-month contract.”Totally five names were suggested, including Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf, but the PCB decided to reward only three umpires with six-month contracts, each carrying a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 (USD 550).In 2011, six umpires were interviewed by the ICC including Nadeem Ghauri, Khalid Mahmood and Ghaffar Kazmi, though Haider, Raza and Shozab were selected for the ICC panel. The trio is currently in UAE officiating in Pakistan’s series against England.The campaign of initiating the contract system was originally raised by Dar. The objective was to promote successful umpires from within the circuit. The scheme is set to be reviewed annually.”It’s not about the number, it’s about the quality,” Khan explained the idea of picking up only three umpires. “We are not discouraging the other umpires and this will inspire them to rise high and reach the benchmark to attain the incentive which is performance-based. This process will be reviewed in June this year.”

After weeks of lengthy negotiations the batsman James Taylor has completed his switch from Leicestershire to Nottinghamshire following agreement over compensation to his former county.Taylor, who has played one ODI against Ireland, still had a year to run on his Leicestershire contract but had made clear his desire to move to Division One in the belief that it will further his England ambitions.”I’m thankful to Leicestershire for allowing me to speak to other counties as I feel that I will benefit from playing against the best teams in four-day cricket,” said Taylor. “Nottinghamshire have a talented squad that can challenge on all fronts and I am pleased to be part of that.”I will always be grateful to Leicestershire for the part they have played in my development but it is time to move on and I am looking forward to the new season.”Taylor is currently in India with the England performance squad but could yet feature for the senior side in the coming months if changes are made to the one-day team, following the whitewash in India, or in the Test squad if he pushes aside Ravi Bopara.
