كشفت تقارير صحفية أن نادي ليفربول دخل في مفاوضات مع أحد لاعبي الفريق من أجل تجديد عقده في الفترة المقبلة.

وكان ليفربول قد أعلن تجديد عقد النجم المصري محمد صلاح، يوم الجمعة الماضي، حيث سيبقى بمقتضاه في الأنفيلد حتى عام 2025.

وحسبما ذكرت شبكة “سكاي سبورتس” العالمية، فإن ليفربول يتطلع إلى تجديد عقد لاعب آخر من الفريق في الفترة القادمة، وهو جو جوميز.

ومن المقرر أن ينتهي العقد الحالي للمدافع الإنجليزي مع ليفربول في عام 2024.

وأوضحت الشبكة أن جو جوميز في محادثات جديدة مع مسؤولي ليفربول بشأن تمديد عقده مع الريدز.

وأشارت إلى أن تأمين مستقبل جوميز يُعد هدفًا رئيسيًا بالنسبة للمدير الرياضي الجديد لنادي ليفربول جوليان وارد، مع العلم أن يورجن كلوب يريد الاحتفاظ به.

وأفادت أنه لا يوجد أي عرض من أستون فيلا أو من أي نادِ آخر لضم جو جوميز في الميركاتو الصيفي الحالي، حتى الآن.

Transfer deadline day came and went without any real drama for Rangers but sporting director Ross Wilson ultimately failed in what should have been one of his main priorities – selling Brandon Barker.

Steven Gerrard’s side were able to offload fringe players such as Jordan Jones and George Edmundson to Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town respectively, whilst the likes of Jamie Murphy and Greg Stewart were released.

However, one man who the Gers failed to shift was Barker, despite his last Premiership appearance for the Gers coming in January.

He was sent on loan to Oxford United in the January transfer window and contributed three goals and four assists in League One for Karl Robinson’s side but that seemingly wasn’t enough for them, or any other club, to take a gamble on Barker this summer.

Since joining from Manchester City in 2019, the winger has gone on to make just 26 appearances for Rangers’ first team, in which he has contributed three goals and no assists, which suggests that he doesn’t really have a future in Gerrard’s side.

The 41-year-old has the likes of Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala, Ianis Hagi, Scott Wright and Joe Aribo available to him on the wings this season, so it seems clear that Barker is surplus to requirements at Ibrox and won’t be making too many appearances any time soon.

Fortunately for Rangers, Barker’s contract at Ibrox is set to expire at the end of this season, which means that January will be the last opportunity for Wilson to sell him permanently before he potentially leaves on a free transfer in 2022.

The 24-year-old will be forced to remain at Ibrox until at least then as something of an outcast in Gerrard’s side, which surely won’t be appreciated by the former Liverpool captain, and you could definitely argue that Wilson should have done more to try and get rid of Barker permanently this summer as it is clear that he is no longer good enough for the Gers.

The return of Christopher Jullien will be a ‘massive’ boost for a Celtic side who look like they’re ‘missing a leader’.

That’s according to former Scotland full-back Alan Hutton, who was speaking to Football Insider.

The lowdown

Julien has been out of action since the end of December 2020 with a knee injury. It’s ruled him out of 34 matches to date.

Speaking midway through last month, manager Ange Postecoglou said that Jullien was ‘still very much on an individual programme’ and insisted Celtic were being ‘careful’.

It will be ‘a little while’ before he’s back in contention, the Australian added.

Celtic have managed to keep four clean sheets in their first 11 competitive matches of the new campaign.

Hutton says the partnership of Stephen Welsh and Carl Starfelt is unconvincing, with the former inexperienced and the latter struggling to ‘find his feet’.

He expects the composed Jullien to elevate the defence when he does eventually return.

“They must be desperate to have him back,” the former Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa man said. “I think they’re missing a leader at the moment in that centre-half pairing.

“Welsh has come in and done really well, but he’s young.

“Starfelt has only just walked through the door, he’s not found his feet yet after a difficult time at the start of the season.

“They need a calm head back there, so Celtic will be desperate for Jullien to come back.

“He’s played in those high-pressure games, and he can help bring on the centre-backs around him with his experience as well.

“He’ll be a massive part of this Celtic side, and when he’s fit he’ll come straight back in.”

The verdict

Celtic’s centre-back ranks have been doubly weakened with Jullien sidelined and Kristoffer Ajer transferred to Brentford for an initial £13.5million back in July. Those two formed a reassuring partnership.

After such a serious injury, there may also be concerns that Jullien will struggle to recapture his former levels.

It’s key for Celtic’s domestic, and indeed European, ambitions that he’s fit and firing soon.

من المقرر أن يوقع فينيسيوس جونيور عقدًا جديدًا لمدة أربع سنوات مع ريال مدريد، من شأنه أن يضعه على مستوى عالٍ مع أصحاب الدخل المرتفع في النادي.

The lowdown

The striker has made 19 appearances for the Liga MX outfit, scoring three goals and providing three assists (via Transfermarkt). The 19-year-old, who was born in Texas, has also been capped 16 times by Mexico at under-17 level.

It’s unclear whether Munoz would go straight into the first team on Tyneside or start out with the Under-23s. The Premier League 2 second division side have already strengthened their ranks this summer by signing the likes of Remi Savage from Liverpool and Charlie Wiggett from Chelsea.

Newcastle and Santos Laguna are in advanced negotiations for Munoz and could reach an agreement on fee ‘in the next few hours’, according to Record Mexico (via Sport Witness).

The teenager doesn’t intend to renew his contract and has duly been frozen out of the first team picture at his current club.

The verdict

One possible area of concern here is securing a work permit. Contributing factors include the number of international appearances, the quality of the selling club and the stature of the league itself.

You’d hope that Newcastle have done their due diligence here and that no major issues will be encountered if they complete the 19-year-old’s signing.

They’ll obviously be keen to avoid a scenario whereby Munoz has to be repeatedly sent out on loan as he waits for the greenlight to make his Magpies debut. If that happens, his evident potential may not be realised on Tyneside.

In other news, one of the ‘big six’ clubs may revisit their interest in this Newcastle ace.

وأردف: “الخطيب أكد لموسيماني أنه إذا كان يملك عرضًا للرحيل فإن النادي الأهلي لن يقف أمامه، وسيتم إنهاء العلاقة بالتراضي بين الطرفين”.
